Responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for ambient air monitoring systems in Houston, Galveston and Brazoria County areaa. Visit monitoring stations on a regular basis to log pressures and flows in electronic logbooks. Maintain records of all activities and status of instrumentation. Order and change support gases when required. Make enough observations to determine that the system is running on-time and that data is correct and valid. Identify and correct any failures which occur and assist in the troubleshooting and repair under the direction of managers or manufacturers personnel. Will be required to develop sufficient knowledge to affect major field repair of systems and provide all preventative maintenance on all equipment. Hours are flexible but tasks may require evenings and weekends.
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with a keen eye toward details and analytical mind. Candidate will be responsible for evaluating environmental analytical data for compliance with method and program/project QA/QC requirements and compliance with EPA Clean Air Act and other Federal Guidelines. Knowledge of strong scientific, engineering, or analytical background with general or specific knowledge of regulatory development, climate change, air quality, emissions, and clean air technology; have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; have excellent written and verbal communication skills; be able to work effectively individually and as part of a team. Computer skills, including expertise with databases, spreadsheets, and programming are highly desired. The candidate must have the ability to assimilate large amounts of technical information.
